Public can search the MLS

Posted by Scott on April 15, 2008

Many people don’t know how to search for real estate listings in Brian Head. I have set up a search feature for the public to use for their own searching. You can now search all listings that are on the multiple listing service in Brian Head.

Search the MLS in Brian HeadGo to my real estate page in this blog. http://scottsinsite.wordpress.com/real-estate-new/. Click on the first link – Search MLS Listings. You will come to a page that looks like the image to the right. Here you can set your search criteria and see the listings that interest you most. Why is this good? Because you don’t get hounded by ungly Realtors such as myself. If you find a property you like, then you can inquire with your Realtor.

Another cool feature that I have to set up is an automatic email for new listings. For example; say you are looking for a 2 bedroom condo and don’t want to spend more than $300,000. Every new listing will be automatically emailed to you so you are the first to know of the new properties for sale.

Who does this help? Everyone! The seller gets his/her property shown quicker. The buyer gets the first option to purchase this home/condo/property. The Realtor(s) can also represent his/her clients better by increaseing the exposure.

Take advantage of this great feature. Send me an email, tell me what your perameters are (what you are looking for and what you are willing to spend) and I’ll set it up. Easy as that.

Say you want a list of all new listings. Send me and email (bird.scott@gmail.com) and consider it done.

See you on the mountain.

Kite Boarding

Posted by Scott on April 10, 2008

Kite Boarding isn’t the first thing you think of when you hear or visit Brian Head, Utah. But recently, Wade and Mark found the terrain to be “Epic” for putting a kite in the air and sailing across the snow. This sport is most recognized as a water sport but has caught the eye of many as a winter sport as well.

I’ve looked briefly into the sport. Once the snow starts to fall, a new season is just beginning. Kiteboarders need wind, snow and open terrain. Could be in the mountains or in a field just as there are no trees, power lines, fences or other obstacles that would get in the way or your ride. You can reach speeds up to 40 to 45 mph, depending on the wind speed and the experience of the individual.

Snow kiteboarding can be easier than kite boarding on the water. You don’t sink, it’s easier to set up, launch and get back up. For beginners, this may be the easier way to see if this sport is for you. You can also set up rails, jumps and other obstacles to thrill your ride.

Kites can range from close to $500 to $2,000 depending on the quality and size you are looking for. Harnesses can range from $40 to $100. These are conservative prices. It seems fairly inexpensive for a fun sport that you can enjoy year round and with no additional expense…unless that is you get hooked.

See you on the Mountain!!!

Brian Head Publicity

Posted by Scott on April 5, 2008

Brian Head SkiingBrian Head is receiving a lot of publicity these days. And rightfully so. The growth of this little mountain town has been expected and anticipated by many. New developments, new skier bridge, new ski terrain and new people. Brian Head hasn’t been talked about this much for a long-long time.

5 new developments are currently being sold. Each one is heavily marketing and promoting their developments on radio and TV, in magazines and on billboards. (See www.brianheadliving.com to view new developments). From recent conversations with developers and/or their representatives, sales are strong. As of this spring, all new developments will either begin construction or continue from where they finished last year. The market is strong and buyers are taking advantage of the buyers’ market.

Park City Picture

The resort spent thousands of dollars promoting the opening of the new Wildflower chair lift and interconnect bridge providing food, entertainment, clothing, hats, discounted lift tickets, fireworks and even Santa Clause was there.

To the left you see a picture of Park City. In the 1950′s, Park City was known as the “Ghost Town of the West”. Today it is one one the country’s most desired recreation towns. Many will dispute that Brian Head will ever experience the same growth as Park City.

Recently Brian Head Resort has undertaken the approval of what is called “The Skier Village“. The exciting news that Brian Head Resort is trying to further their expansion with a 500,000 square foot condo/hotel/commercial development gives visitors hope that someday more entertainment activities and dining options will compliment their experience to Brian Head. So does this sort of growth fit Brian Head? I’d like to hear your comments on that but one thing is for sure the attention will increase, people will continue to discover the town and building will happen. Perhaps the new tagline for Brian Head should be ”New”.

See you on the mountain.
